2009 - 2010 Programs

Star Skate: Silver

The executive reserves the right to move skaters
and adjust programs as necessary.

Requirements: Passed either Preliminary Dances or Preliminary Skills

New This Year:
Skate Canada has introduced the Long Term Athelete Development Plan (L.T.A.D) plan and so has EGSC with the introduction of off-ice, and special attention to power, stroking, endurance and flexiblility. In addition, Group lessons for Stroking, Power and Edges & Turns sessions have been included in the different sessions.

At this level, sessions are divided into skills, dance and freeskate times. During those sessions, only music associated with that session can be played. This program encourages skaters to move onto higher levels of competition and testing with the help of independent coaching. Skaters will be encouraged to contribute to music ideas, can join as Program Assistants in a junior coaching role, participate in a variety of club and interclub competitions and be a vital part of special events.

Skaters must arrange for coaching on silver sessions.
